Baby Baby

Baby, Baby! is a short board book that has babies as the primary focus.  It uses lots of colours and kept my sons attention through the entire book!! It uses a rhyming pattern to make it more melodic when being read aloud – but every second page has the rhyme since it is short sentences. It also teaches/reminds children at the end that they are always loved by God – and also has a large reflective surface/mirror at the end.

The book is recommended for children 1-3 years old.

It was written by Diane Stortz and illustrated by Ailie Busby. It is currently available on for $7.99, or for $10.99

I thought that this book was pretty awesome and ran a giveaway on my facebook page. It was open to anyone who commented, lived in Canada or the United States, and used the hashtag #BabyBaby.

Captive DVD Giveaway

As some of you may remember, I did a review awhile ago on a book I received called Captive. You can check that one out HERE if you’ve forgotten.

Ashley Smith, a recovering drug-addict (who is barely clinging to the wagon) is abducted outside her home and held hostage by Brian Nichols.

In the movie, as with all films based on a book, there are some details missing. One early example is that in the book she goes to the store to get cigarettes, but in the movie she just gets a package from her car. While some things were changed or omitted, I did feel that the movie was fairly true to the novel.

I did not personally find this movie to be very fast paced, and I would not call this a movie theater film, I do feel its a good rental type movie, or one to own in your collection. Knowing that this is all based on a true story makes this so much more real for me.

Feel free to check out the OFFICIAL WEBSITE, in addition to checking them out on FACEBOOK and/or TWITTER.

Giveaway is  open to residents of the United States and Canada.
Entries will be accepted until Monday, Feb 1st 2016 midnight EST.

About the movie (by the promoter):

#TheWatchers – Knight of Light Book Giveaway

I was sent “Knight of Light” on audible in exchange for my honest review, and I have listened to it now at least 3-4 times — although I did fall asleep once and missed the middle.

Basically, this is a novella that takes place a long time ago in the past (1270AD) about a little red headed orphan named Auriella (pronounced yurr-ee-ella). Her parents died in a fire and she was the sole survivor, doing jobs in different homes to try and earn her keep – for very meager wages. When another fire breaks out in town, the cries of three children can be heard coming from the house, and without thought to her own safety Auriella races in to try and save them. When she exits with the children, rather than praised as a hero, she is called a witch.

Enjoying Gourmet #tea Giveaway

Since my first year of University, I have rarely drank coffee, since I was almost hospitalized – 3 coffees from Tim Hortons in one day, albeit over the course of 7 hours, is apparently a BAD idea for my body.

That being said, I adore tea. Even the ones with caffeine don’t seem to bother me nearly as bad as coffee. So when the option to test out some new gourmet teas became available, I jumped on the offer – begging for them to ship to Canada to me, and they DID!!

They came in these little stylish tins, and even came with a 15% off code for my future orders.

If you would like to try any of their tea, they are offering 10% off to all my readers with coupon code “tmpr15a” (don’t add in the quotes)  You would get 15% off on future orders I believe. They ship to many different countries, links to their site is below!

Did you know that when you are brewing tea, you can actually “burn” it by letting it steep in too hot water or too long. So they included some helpful information to ensure you get the best taste possible.

90 Minutes in Heaven GIVEAWAY

There was a car crash, and Don Piper died. This story is an autobiography about his recollections and evidence of what happened to him before and after his death… In his OWN words. That’s right, after 90 minutes of being dead, he came back to life!

He says that he was in Heaven, standing at the gates, surrounded by friends, loved ones and those who had influenced his coming to Christ, who had already passed away. He had an immeasurable sense of peace, joy and happiness as he approached the radiant gates to Heaven. . . but he never made it in, he returned to Earth to an immense amount of pain, multiple surgeries and a very long recovery. What he also found, along the way, was that sharing his message, and his experiences have brought, peace, happiness, hope, relief and many other positive impacts to everyone he’s encountered. That, he feels, is why he was brought back to Earth. Innumerable prayers were answers, miracles occurred – which defy logic or scientific understanding for Don to be present and tell his story.

As a child, Don had a love of movies from Gone with the Wind to Schindler’s List, and now his entire life will be brought to life on the big screen, including the dramatic events which lead to his death, and coming back to life! (And one lucky person will win a copy of this best selling book too)!

The Abduction of Nelly Don GIVEAWAY

Based on a True Story….

Picture this: It’s December 17, 1931. Self-made millionaire fashion designer Nelly Don has just left her factory on her way home to care for her sick three month old son, David. She started from the bottom and worked extremely hard to get to where she is today; from sewing dresses in a spare room, to a factory filled with over one-thousand employees, Nelly has worked her way to the top.

BUT — these are desperate times. The Great Depression has affected even decent men. Kidnappings are becoming commonplace, with only the more high-profile cases making the papers.
