Great for self-esteem, this book could be used to ask female students, or ones daughter what they are personally fabulous at. There is a large movement in schools to character education, and this book would be ‘fabulous’ as a lesson in Kindergarten to grade 1/2.

The pictures are well done and colourful. There are many different activities mentioned, that would allow readers to make personal connections to the story. I think the book is appropriately levelled for ages 3-5, but could be used for older girls too in my opinion.

I could see children singing the song from the book: “It’s me! It’s me! It’s Fabulous me! There are places to go, and so many things to see!”

It is for the Kindle, but the listings has a FREE Kindle Reading App posted so that anybody can read them — even without a Kindle device — for smartphones, tablets and computers.

I received this ebook free to review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

We Play: Level 1 Reader eBook Review

I got this book from Amazon and had the choice of three formats: PDF, Kindle or Kobo reader.

I choose to read it on my laptop as a PDF.

We Play

I think that the reading level is appropriate. There is a lot of repetition, starting with a simple sentence, then expanding it on the next page (ex. We play. We play at the park.)

This book has full page, brightly coloured pictures with amazing texture (sorry art teacher in me coming out, I’d use this book to talk about texture to my grade 1/2 students!) that could help struggling readers understand the context and keeps interest peaked for all readers.

There is a word list at the end of the book that could be used in a mini lesson including three activity suggestions in art, writing and math!

I give this book 5 stars for level appropriateness and awesome pictures!

My Friend Paris MP3 Review

I was approved to review the Theme Song: My Friend Paris, however they NEVER sent me the MP3, and did not respond to my email. Thus, I was only able to review based on the clip they have posted on their store.

The song/books are about Paris who is a big sister in a loving family. Her mom is having twins, and we join along with Paris on her adventures. Based on the site, she travels to many different places, including New York, Italy and France. On their site they actually have a free section with colouring pages, sticker, and pumpkin carving template, which was pretty cool if your child’s a fan, as many are.

Very cool song, from the 25 second fragment I could hear, it sets up the book series very well, and it’s quite catchy. I would still recommend this product, as I think it was probably a mistake. I would be interested in the books and other songs (Maybe they didn’t check back in since their reviewers should have had their products – disappointing since its my first Free product review.)
